Warm Fuzzies

I feel like I've just received 25 Christmas cards, plus the emails that came today from people who prefer emails over comments.  Wow!  It feels like one giant hug.  I seriously love you guys.  Just wanted to say thanks.  And if you still haven't commented... come on - getting to know you is fun!

And, you'll notice that I've added a whole slew of blogs to my blog list on the side.  If you left a comment and have a public/active blog, but don't see yours on the list, let me know... I must have overlooked it.  I just wanted to update the list to include my newest friends.  I'll keep updating with more blogs if you comment!

197 Christmas sugar cookies.  Check.  And not a single burned or broken.  (But a few eaten prematurely.)  And, Catherine's surgery was a success, David came out of the hospital, and Cora is getting moved to the regular ward tomorrow.  Could there be better pre-Christmas news?  I think not.

Wow, Carrie. I just read yesterday's post and I couldn't stop reading! So many details about your lives in China...a Subway! Yay! So many praises for the healing in the kiddos....Yay! So many cookies and messy fingers....yay! So many words of encouragement and hope when you share your heart....yay!
I can't wait to meet you in person in a few months!
It sounds like you are going to have a wonderfully delicious Christmas with family and friends...
Our Christmas will be very full, yet missing two little feet pattering around. Kiss those piggies for me! ;)

I am sending you a big hug! And will keep you in my prayers this holiday especially. I read through some of the comments on your last post and it was SO uplifting to hear from so many whose life you have touched. Carrie you are a light in the darkness and a beacon for so many of us who are looking for direction and some way to make a difference. It is a blessing to be able to "have a cup o' tea with you", chat and lift you up! Thank you for giving of your life, for sharing it with others and inspiring us all to be more as the body of Christ.
For the holidays we will be traveling up North to MN to visit in-laws. I am praying that things go well! Sometimes the thought of being in China, a few days travel from family is inviting (haha!) But in all seriousness, we can only imagine how hard it is to have that distance and we are so glad that Jacob's family will be there for you guys this year. Have a wonderful trip to Shanghai! I had hopes of sending you a little Christmas gift ... but along with the Christmas Cards, the cookies and so many things it has not gotten done yet. However ... I plan on making good on these things in the new year ;-)
Blessings to you and Jacob!
And as always give Samuel a hug for me :-)

P.S. The boys LOVE subway too! They especially like the breakfast subs that they just discovered 2 weeks ago. Easton calls it "Sub-boy" (apparently that's what he thought I have been calling it for so long. I guess I should annunciate more clearly.)

Carrie, I'm so glad you're feeling the "warm fuzzies" now! I hope it does make China feel a little more "Christmas-y" this year!

So glad to hear the positive reports on ALL the kiddos! It is a very blessed Christmas, indeed!!!

Happy Christmas, Carrie :) I am still reading your blog, a year and a half after saying bye to you in person. Aaaand I will keep reading, because you have a way with words and thoughts that I've not found in anyone else. And perhaps reading your blog makes my brain think I'm back there having a conversation with you face to face, which was and always will be most lovely. Someday I'll be back, until then, perhaps I'm living vicariously through you :)
LOVE, Bekah

Hi Carrie! I am glad you found a subway! I know when I was in China last year all I wanted was something that tasted like home...and I wasn't even there two full weeks...what can I say I am a wimp. Well we are starting our celebrations on Christams Eve morning with breakfast with Mom. Then the rest of her side of the family will be coming over to open gifts. Then back home to make some finger foods and my husband's side of the family will come to our house that afternoon. Then to Church for our candle light Lord's Supper...(My favorite new tradition...we started this last year). Then on Christmas morning we'll celebrate with the kids and then we go to my Dad's at four...Whew! By Saturday I will be tired of Ham that is for sure! Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday. Of course you know I have the Operation Giggle blog but my personal blog is http://princesswithpurpose.blogspot.com/ God Bless You All!!

Wow, so many wonderful blessings to read about. I think about you guys and the wonderful work you are doing. It has been a while since I have been out here so I had to catch up on the last few posts. So many things we have to be thankful for. And so many thought provoking posts. I agree, you need to look into getting published. Your writing makes me think about where I am on my own faith journey. Thank you. You are counted as one of the many blessings in my life.

Wishing you and Jacob a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love & Prayers from all of us at the Waala House of Fun

I love reading your blog. We spent Christmas with all my boys and our sweet little girl from China who was celebrating her first "Jesus Birthday" We tried to make the Christmas Season this year about spending time with family. My blog posts tell the stories of some of the things we dd.
Your Subway story reminds me of January when we were in China. The first place we saw after we got to our hotel in Beijing was a subway. We still ween't sure until they took out the meet packages and it said Hornel on them, just like at home!!!

Hi Carrie,
I'm a co-worker of Jenny's in Perryton and she introduced me to your blog. I have pretty much fallen in love :) I lived in Asia for a year and miss is more than anything, reading your blog in a way is like having a link to home.
I will be praying for you all! (and in reference to your last post: I know the exact feeling of getting eating a Subway sandwich! Oh to this day it is a privilege to eat one and I've lived in the States for 6 months now :P)

SO happy for the babies! What you guys do is really awesome. I know my sister is all the different for being in foster care and in a loving environment instead of institutionalized. Oh, and you missed my blog on your list. :D

Hi Carrie, I have had a hard time keeping up with everyone's blog sincewe returned from China. It's been five months and you'd think I would be over it but KayLi has had two surgies during that time and I'm really hoping for life to settle into a new and wonderful normal soon. All that to say, I do check in on you all form time to time and pray for you often. I just don't comment as much as I should. I know you are enjoying your family and that thrills my heart!!! I trust you had a very blessed (and sticky) Christmas!!!
