In Memory

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world: why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

These two precious little girls died while waiting for heart surgeries. I just wanted you to see their faces, because they didn't have very many people to grieve over them. Their lives still mattered, and they were worth just as much as any child on any continent in any family. I am posting this because I need to know that people knew they existed. There is something about the fact that they don't have anyone who deeply misses them and desperately wants them back that makes my heart ache.

There are hundreds of children who die while waiting for surgery. The only thing that makes these girls different is that Jacob and I met them while they were still alive. We didn't have room in the foster home to bring them to Beijing for treatment, and so they waited... Their surgeries probably weren't that complicated; instead they died because they didn't have access to treatment. No one is really to blame for this injustice; it is simply the sad effect of a world where all is not right and equal.

I am thankful they are not suffering anymore. I am thankful they are not lonely anymore. I am thankful they are in the arms of the Great Comforter now. They are finally home...

Thinking of you! I've been there, I know your pain. May they meet my Xiao Ya and Xiao Shu and dance together around His feet. Love, Pam
